Farm house 

 

“…I go to prepare a place for you…” – John 14:2

 

Possessing a farm house has come into vogue with the political leaders, famous film personalities, business tycoons and other big shots. “Pannai Veedu” has become a compulsory requirement for them nowadays. They try to construct it heedfully spending extravagantly. They visit the farm house with their families and friends every now and then to rest and spend a pleasant time with their loved ones and enjoy. To them a farm house is a necessity, not a convenience. Many people dream of owning a farm house. Although they have a beautiful home to reside, they long to own a luxurious farm house. 

 

When we read the Holy Bible, we come to know that Christ lived on earth about thirty-three years. He did ministry for 3 ½ years with His disciples. When He was with them, He said, “In My Father’s house are many mansions…I go to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2) This word of God is very vital. The world being temporary, our life on earth is also transient. So, we must fix our eyes on Christ Jesus, who is the way and the truth and the life and who will take us home to be in heaven with Him. We have to understood the truth treasured in the Bible. We need to plead with God to help us grow in Him and seek the things that are above. 

 

Dear friends, Farm house may be the dream and goal of worldly people but heaven is our ultimate destination. Throughout our life on earth, we must be anxious about our permanent dwelling place in heaven. We need to strive diligently to get to heaven and God’s grace will lead us home. In this temporary world we may not own a house but we are going to inherit a dwelling place in heaven. So, let us set our minds on things above. If we crave for the Kingdom of heaven and prepare ourselves diligently to inherit it, the very thought about it will give joy to us to get through.
