Don't miss the moment

 

"...Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it" - Gen. 28:16

 

25 years ago, I lived in a village. It was a very prosperous village with many people. But they did not have much education. God spoke to my heart to take tuition for the children there, but I ignored it. It was only after coming into ministry that I saw with my own eyes that many children were coming to know God through tuition. I was very sorry that I had missed a good opportunity to win souls. Yes, we should be careful that we should never miss the opportunities and privileges that come to us.

 

In the Bible, this was also the experience of a devotee named Jacob. He forgot that he was Abraham’s grandson and that God had given great promises to Abraham. He travelled to Haran because of the problems he had encountered in life. He took one of the stones and put it under his head to sleep there because the sun had set. There, in a dream, the Lord appeared to Jacob and said, “In you and your descendants all the families of the earth will be blessed” (Gen. 12:3). He also promised to be with you wherever you go. When Jacob woke up in the morning, he said, “The Lord is truly in this place, and I did not know it.” In Jeremiah 23:24, the Lord says, “Am I not he who fills heaven and earth?” We too can sense God’s presence in ordinary places. When we experience His presence personally, our past sorrows seem as nothing.

 

Dear friends, are our eyes and ears open to know the will of God in our lives? God has given us a vision to share the gospel with one crore souls in 50,000 villages. When we give the good news of Jesus Christ to this world as a gift, all families of the earth will be blessed through us. Since we have experienced God’s presence, will we surrender ourselves to do His will? Amen
