The Man of Action

 

"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might;..." - Ecclesiastes 9:10

 

Our education, wealth, possessions, talents, wisdom, influence, status, and benevolent qualities are all gifts of grace that the Lord has given us. None of us can say that we do not have any such gifts of grace. When we use them for the glory of the Lord's name, the Lord will be glorified, and we will be blessed and become a blessing to others.

 

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” (Colossians 3:24). “So that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ;...” (1 Peter 4:11) – the Bible gives us such teachings.

 

Through the talents the Lord gave him, David sang sweet psalms joyfully. With the wisdom the Lord gave him, Solomon wrote 3000 proverbs and 1005 songs. Through them, millions of people are blessed even today. Esther used the royal honor and status she received to save her people from utter destruction. When Peter gave his boat to Jesus, Jesus' ministry was fulfilled. When they had caught no fish, Peter and his companions received a double blessing, so much so that their boats were almost sinking. Joseph of Arimathea, using his influence and courage, went to Pilate, asked for Jesus' body, and buried it with great respect in a new tomb. He is mentioned in all four Gospels. Tabitha, who performed good deeds and acts of charity, died and was brought back to life. Through Cornelius, who also performed many acts of charity and good deeds, the gospel reached the Gentiles.

 

Dear friends! When we use the graces that the Lord has given us for His sake, God's name will be glorified. We too will be blessed and become a blessing to others. Shall we become active doers?
