The Secret to Success

 

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers” - Ephesians 4:29

 

The secret to success is speaking only about the good qualities of others. Benjamin Franklin was appointed as the American representative to France. Those who were amazed by his highly effective work and achievements asked him, "What is the secret to your success?" Benjamin Franklin replied, "If I have to speak about someone, I will only speak about their good qualities. I will not speak about their shortcomings or failures." He added, "Similarly, you too should not speak evil of anyone. If there is any good in others, you can talk about it; otherwise, remain silent. That will lead you to success."

 

Dear child of God, we read about an incident in the Bible. In Jude 1:9, when the archangel Michael argued with the devil about the body of Moses, he did not dare to accuse him with insulting words, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" Even when the devil stood at Joshua's right hand to oppose him, he said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

 

In Zechariah 3:1,2, when Joshua the high priest stood before the angel of the Lord, and Satan stood at his right hand to oppose him, the Lord said to Satan, "The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Is not this man a brand plucked from the fire?"

 

My dear child of God, we read in the Bible that even though the devil committed injustice against God, the Lord did not dare to condemn him with abusive language. When the Lord himself did not dare to condemn, should we criticize God's chosen, anointed children, who are created in His image? We should not criticize them. Guard your mouth from defilement. That is the secret to victory.
