The Forgiving God

 

“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us” - Psalm 103:12

 

Once there was a beautiful green village. It had big trees, fields, gardens, a pond, and even a pump set to water the fields. Sounds nice, right kids? Village life is a very peaceful, beautiful, happy, and simple life.

 

In that village, a family lived with a father, mother, older sister, and younger brother. The older sister loved lovebirds, and her father bought her a pair. She would lovingly feed them, give them water, and clean their cage every day. In the evening, after finishing their homework, the younger brother and his friends were playing ball. Suddenly, a ball came flying and hit something with a loud thud. The sister started crying loudly. All the friends ran away. Oh no! The brother ran to see what had happened, worried that his sister had been hurt. One of the lovebirds lay dead.

 

The next day, the father went out of town for business. "Hey brother, come here, I need to water the garden," said the sister. "No, I'm playing, I won't come," said the brother. The sister threatened to tell their father about what happened (with the lovebird) and thus made him do the work. Ten days passed like this. The father returned home. The brother ran to his father and said, "Please forgive me, Dad." The father asked what had happened and learned the whole story. "It's okay, I'll buy you another lovebird," said the father. The brother hugged his father's neck and said, "Thanks, Dad."

 

Similarly, kids, when we confess our mistakes to Jesus without hiding them and try to leave them behind, He is a God who forgives and forgets all our sins. Why should you hide your mistakes from Jesus, who is ready to forgive you? Kids, ask for forgiveness right now. Experience the joy that no one else can give, a joy that will fill your heart.
