Praise and sing to the Lord

 

“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” - Psalm 34:1

 

A missionary who went to China faced various problems that hindered his ministry and became very discouraged. Due to the increasing opposition, he was deeply disheartened by a sense of failure. Despite much prayer, he found no relief from his depression and anxieties.

 

He decided to spend a few days in prayer with another missionary who lived nearby and went to his house. The words "Praise and sing to the Lord" hanging at the entrance caught his eye. God revealed to him that he had not been praising and thanking God with gratitude. He went into a dense forest and, with the help of the Holy Spirit, began to wholeheartedly praise and thank God. All his discouragement, feelings of failure, and anxieties left him. He received freedom and renewed enthusiasm. He continued his ministry with joy.

 

We are at the end of the year 2025. Until now, various discouragements, anxieties, financial difficulties, and illnesses may have occurred in our lives and the lives of our children. Are you disheartened because some things haven't changed despite much prayer? Begin to praise God, just as Paul and Silas praised God in prison.

 

Yes, my dear ones, even amidst failures and sorrows, let the "incense of praise" rise from our homes. The Bible says that praise is fitting. The Immanuel who has protected us until now is still with you as Ebenezer, who will continue to protect you. Let us enter the new year with praise. Hallelujah.
