God Who Answers

 

“…they called upon the LORD, and he answered them” - Psalm 99:6

 

Many years ago, a senior pastor was serving in the Chennai area. In those days, there was extreme poverty, with nothing to eat. He was struggling greatly without even meeting his daily needs. One day, he and his fellow workers fasted and prayed from morning to evening for God to change his situation. While praying, they prayed, “Jesus, you sent a raven to meet the need of the man of God named Elijah, send a raven to meet our need.” At that time, a drunkard walking on the road got very angry and threw a dead raven on the road into the prayer room, telling that these Christians always shout Hallelujah, Hallelujah. After praying, the workers said, “Lord, has sent a raven to help us.” But when they were about to throw it away, as they saw a dead crow, they found a gold chain hanging from its mouth. When they saw it, they were very happy, thinking how good our God is, that He has heard and answered our prayers.

 

Similarly, in the Bible, a woman named Hagar and her son Ishmael were sent into the wilderness early in the morning with a skin of water and some bread. The bread and water in their hands were running out. The son asked for water. He said he was hungry. The mother, who could not bear the pain of her son before her eyes, went far away and sat down and cried, saying, "I will not see my child die before my eyes." God heard the child's voice. He saw Hagar's tears. At that moment, He showed them a spring of water. Both of them drank water and survived. Thus God blessed them.

 

My dear ones, are you also suffering with such a problem, in a situation where there is no one, in solitude, and in pain, saying, "I cannot take even a step beyond this?" There is a God who sees your pain and loneliness. Do not be troubled, He will wipe away your tears and change your pain. He will change any difficult situation and do a miracle for you too.
