Some Obstacles Are for Good

 

“The breaker is come up before them…” - Micah 2:13

 

One day a couple with great sorrow brought their daughter to us to pray. Seeing them, we asked, “What happened, you have already engaged your daughter to be married?” They replied, “We had saved some money and gold for our daughter’s wedding. We told the groom’s family this is all we can give, and they agreed. But suddenly they came back and demanded more money and more jewelry. They said they cannot proceed with the wedding unless we give it. We don’t have the ability to give that much. It looks like the marriage will be stopped. We don’t know what to do.” To that, we looked at them and said, “Do not worry. If they are demanding so much money and gold before the wedding, how will they take care of your daughter after the wedding? Since this wedding is arranged without knowing the will of God, God himself has forbidden it so that we should not get into trouble. We submitted to God's will and prayed and sent them. A few months later, the Lord God performed the wedding of that daughter very beautifully.

 

During the days when the war was going on between the Philistines and Israel, David also went to war. But King Achish said to David, “You are pleasing to me like an angel of God, but my commanders do not want you to come with us to war.” So, David did not go to war. If David had gone, he would not have been at the right place and the right time to rescue everything that was taken from Ziklag. God Himself stopped David from going so that He could restore everything

 

Sometimes, some things are blocked. That is, our efforts for some things like marriage and business will be blocked. Sometimes Satan will block it. Sometimes the Lord will block it. You should know the difference between these two. When we try to move forward without seeking God’s will, He may stop it so that we do not fall into trouble. He blocks certain things to guide us in the right path. Surrender yourself to the will of God in your life as well. The Lord God will treat you wonderfully.
