Lamentations

“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” – Phil. 4:6

My father served in the military. So, he did not easily get upset or complain about anything. But when he came home after drinking alcohol, he would keep on complaining about everything. When I look at the condition of many Christians today, this is what comes to my mind. Even though they know that Jesus Christ is Almighty, they keep complaining about many things.

A man who had been sick for 38 years was lying near the pool of Bethesda. That pool has a special feature. An angel would go down into the pool and stir it up. Then the first ones to step in would be healed, no matter how sick they were. So, in the 5 porches around the pool, the blind, the lame, the paralyzed, and the sick are lying. Jesus goes to the man who has been sick for 38 years and asks him, "Do you want to be healed?" Instead of saying “Yes,” he began to complain: “When the water is stirred, I have no one to help me get into the pool.” Even today, many people do the same. When problems, sickness, or weakness come, they complain to God. When things go well, we say, “God is almighty, God is wonderful!” But when difficulties come and especially when they last for days or months we start complaining even more. But look at blind Bartimaeus. Jesus Christ says, "What do you want?" He says, "I want to see." Jesus says to him, "Your faith has saved you." Immediately he regained his sight and followed Jesus.

Dear Beloved ones! Enough of this year of suffering, sorrow, and illness. Stop complaining. Today Jesus comes to you and asks you what you need. Instead of complaining about your problems, sufferings, or the ridicule others have made of you, just tell him in one line, “I want this problem to go away,” like Bartimaeus, and receive deliverance. The One who gives deliverance comes to you and asks, “Do you want to be healed?” So stop complaining and tell Jesus your needs and receive deliverance.
