Effort Brings Success

 

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might…” - Ecclesiastes 9:10

 

A king once announced a challenge. The task was to push open the palace gate using only one’s hands. Whoever succeeded would receive a portion of the kingdom as a gift. But the condition was that if the person failed, their hands would be cut off.

 

The people thought about it in many ways and were afraid, and no one came forward to participate in the contest. Only one young man came forward to participate in the contest. If you lose the contest, they will cut off your hands. What will happen to your future? Many people questioned. To this, the young man replied, "Sir, if I win the contest, I will also be a king. If I lose, my hands will go away, not my life!"

 

Then he pushed the palace door. What a miracle! The door suddenly opened. Because the palace doors were not locked, they were just open. Many people are like this today. They are afraid of failing or losing something and do not try anything.

 

Even in the Bible, when Jesus tells the parable of the talents, we read that he rebuked those who did not use the talent given to him and honoured those who did use their talent. Yes, God has given each of us different personal talents. We need to discover them and develop them. Then God will give us a reward worthy of our efforts.

 

Dear Friends! Today, many people keep complaining that they do not have any talent like the one who was given one talent. Those who think this way will never rise in life. Only when we make an effort to use our talent can God bless and elevate us. In 2 Peter 1:10, we read, “Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall”. Let us not bury our talent but use it for God and achieve greatness in life! Amen!
