Speed at Work

 

“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work” - John 9:4

 

A young man was walking along the road, quickly handing out copies of the gospel containing the word of God to everyone who passed by. A pastor who noticed this asked, "Why are you handing out these gospel copies so quickly? Can you please give them slowly?" Then the answer he gave surprised him. I am a patient, and the doctors who examined my body have said that you only have a few months to live. So, before my time ends, I want to share the good news of Jesus with as many people as possible. He said, "I desire to spend the days of my life that God has graciously given me for His benefit and for the benefit of my soul."

 

Dear people of God, we, who are healthy in body, must also meet an end one day. Therefore, we must complete our work within these short days that we have. With every passing minute, the time for us to work is decreasing. We must make the most of our time with vigilance. The purpose of Jesus Christ was also, "I must work the works of him who sent me." When the disciples said to Jesus, "Rabbi, feed me," he said, "I have food to eat that you do not know about. My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work."

 

Jesus was sent into this world. Therefore, we have attained eternal life. Our purpose should be to do the will of him who created us. The Bible warns us that "the night is coming when no one can work." Before that time comes when no one can work, let us be conscious and diligent in completing our duties. May God Himself strengthen us, encourage us, and give us help.
