Dedication is Necessary

 

“…let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” - Matthew 16:24

 

A pastor gave a challenging message to his congregation. "Who is going to go to China as a missionary? People are dying without knowing Christ. Will you give yourself to God’s work?" A widowed mother came to the bishop and said, "Sir, I am sending my daughter to China as a missionary." The bishop said, "Mother, your daughter should be helping you, you are old." But he said, "Sir, the Lord will take care of me. I have five children." The mother's eldest daughter was sent to China as a missionary. The Chinese killed her while she was ministering there. The widowed mother cried and said, "I am not crying for my daughter, I am crying for the Chinese people."

 

She again sent her second daughter, third, fourth, and fifth daughters as missionaries for the salvation of the Chinese people, so that they would find Jesus at any cost. What happened? The Chinese mercilessly killed them too. Now, the widowed mother said, "Sir! Send me."

 

The pastor was shocked, but he agreed. She set foot on Chinese soil and began to tell the people about the love of Jesus Christ When the Chinese people saw her, they said,

“We killed all five of your daughters, who were in your image, Yet, without fear or anger, you have come to tell us about the same Jesus they spoke of … why??" Then the widowed mother said, "I love you. I don't want you to go to hell." Hearing that, tears flowed from the eyes of the Chinese. They saw the love of Jesus Christ in that mother, many of them repented and turned to Jesus that very day.

 

My beloved people, "I have made these people for myself; "They shall declare my praise" (Isa. 43:21). How about us? The mother who sacrificed her five children for the service of Jesus finally offered herself to die for Jesus. This is the dedication of the ministry. Only if we are dedicated can we fulfill such a ministry. Amen! Hallelujah! May the Lord bless you!
