The Lord in Action

 

"The Lord will do all things for me;..." - Psalm 138:8

 

After completing his college studies, Babu kept going from company to company for a job and attending interviews. Some of his classmates went on to higher studies. Some joined the small jobs that were available. But Babu kept trying. Despite all his efforts, Babu was tired of not getting a job, so his father called him and made him sit near him. He said to Babu, "Son, keep in mind the verse, 'A horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory comes from the Lord' and hold firmly to the God who gives victory. He said that it is an easy matter for God to give you a good job. Babu accepted his father's advice and started praying in the same way every day. Within a few days, Babu got a good job. Babu also thanked God with joy.

 

When Paul arrived in Philippi, he sat down on the Sabbath day outside the city by the river and prayed and preached. God opened the heart of Lydia, who was listening to Paul's preaching. The Word worked in her and she was saved. She and her household were baptized. God works in the place where we regularly gather and pray. When we continue to work for God, He also works for us. We must make praying a habit. When we continue to pray without being careless and without getting tired, we do not have to do anything special. God himself will work for us there. It is our duty to pray, read the Bible and teach it. It is God who does the work. He himself will make a change and a difference in what we usually do.

 

Beloved, you also make it a habit to pray. Inherit the good that God does. Share them with others. When you continue to do this, God will work for you in that place. When you make it a habit to pray and act, God will open the hearts of others. Do you say that you do not know what to say? As it is written, it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks through you (Matt.10:20). When you pray and speak, He will act through you. Make it a habit to pray, read and follow the Bible, and teach about God. The Lord will act.
