Awakening through Adversary
“Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called…” - Romans 8:30
"Narayanan Vaman Tilak" was raised strictly in godliness and was born into a Brahmin family in the Indian state of Maharashtra. He hated Christianity and would tear up all Christian gospel books. As the months passed, a feeling of emptiness filled his heart. He did not even care about Hinduism but created new principles and worked to get people to follow them. In this situation, during a train journey he met a European. Tilak, who was hesitant to talk because he was a Christian, talked to him for several hours because he was a European with an interest in Sanskrit.
At the end of the journey, the European gave Tilak a "New Testament" and asked him to read it. Tilak, who read the New Testament under compulsion, began to experience positive changes in his heart. He found that all the answers to the questions he had been searching for until now were in the New Testament. As a result, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He felt that the emptiness of his heart had changed and was fulfilled.
Having dedicated himself completely to Jesus Christ, he was baptized in 1895 and confessed his Christian faith. Not only this, but he also worked tirelessly among the people of Maharashtra to make them know Jesus. He wrote 798 Christian songs in Marathi and paved the way for a great revival. God used him mightily to ignite a spiritual awakening in Maharashtra.
Children of God who are reading this, in these last days, the Lord is going to raise up an army of youth. A "nation of young men" (Psalm 110:3) is going to rise up and shake this very world for the Lord. A gospel generation is going to arise in the coming revival. The Lord will surely visit our children. The Lord visited a young man named Saul who opposed the gospel. The Lord will never abandon us. He will use them mightily like Paul to know God’s will, to see Him, and to hear His word.
