You are the winner.

 

“…Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight” – Mark 1:3

 

A king planned and announced a race for young men. Many young men from different countries participated in the race. The race started from a certain corner of the city. The king's palace was declared the finish line of the race. Piles of stones were found here and there on the race route. All those who participated in it ran over and around the piles of stones on the way. Some climbed and jumped over them and quickly reached the king's palace one after the other except for one young man who was taking a long time to arrive. The king said that he would announce the result of the race only after all those who had started the race had arrived.

 

The young man, who arrived after a long time with injured hands, begged forgiveness for the delay. There were many piles of stones on the way, and I removed them because they would be an obstacle for the people walking along it. In one of the piles, I found this bag full of gold coins. He showed it to the king. The king was happy and said, "Son, you are the one who won this race. Since you have paved the way for others, these gold coins belong to you."

 

Dear Friends! In our daily life, many obstacles will keep coming. Instead of struggling to bear it and running away from it, we should make it easy with the help of the Lord and make others run well. We see in the Bible that "Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people" (Isaiah 62:10).

 

Let our actions be such as to attract perishing people to Christ. Let us prepare and refine the paths of goodness. May God give us the grace to do this with His help and guidance. Amen.
