Heard the Cry

 

“…but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him..." - 2 Chron. 18:31

 

I was born and raised in a non-Christian family, who did not know the Lord, but when I was in the tenth grade, I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior. Because of this, I was rejected in many places, even by my own family. However, I did not abandon the Lord or my faith in Him. God helped me to join a Bible college and study the Bible. God blessed me to carry out my ministry in Tamil Nadu, other states of India, and abroad. Whenever I cried out to the Lord, both in my personal life and in my ministry, God was always favourable to me.

 

Today, we will see a king in the Bible who cried out to God. The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat: I will disguise myself and go into the battle, but you wear your royal robes. Jehoshaphat went to battle dressed as a king. When the enemy commanders saw him, they thought he was the king of Israel and surrounded him to attack. Then Jehoshaphat cried out, and God turned them away from him. When the commanders of the chariots saw that he was not the king of Israel, they turned back from him. In this passage we read in the Bible, the king of Israel plotted to kill Jehoshaphat in battle. But because Jehoshaphat cried out to the Lord, the Lord delivered him immediately in battle. In Ex. 3:7, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and... I have heard their cries, and I know their sorrows.”

 

Children of God who are reading this, we too often fall prey to the tricks of the devil. When such situations come into our lives, we rely on relatives or friends and cry out to them. The Lord hears your cry. He says that he knows the pains you are going through. Our Lord does not like His children to cry. He will not watch His children suffer. Whenever we cry out to Him, He hears our cry. Will you also cry out to Him?
