Be Helpful
"Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act" - Proverbs 3:27
A little baby elephant lived happily in a big forest with his mother, father, sister and brother. The little elephant was a very mischievous elephant. He would always run here and there. One day, the baby elephant went to the pond in the forest with his family to drink water. There, he was playing happily in the water. A little sparrow was watching the elephant's playfulness from a tree. It asked the little elephant; can we be friends? Hearing that, the baby elephant became angry and said, “I am a big animal that walks on the ground. Why should I be friends with a tiny bird like you?” The elephant scolded the bird harshly. Feeling sad, the bird quietly watched the elephant play.
After a while, the elephant family left for their place. On the way, the little elephant saw a sugarcane plantation, and without the knowledge of its parents, it wanted to eat sugarcane and went into the plantation. Then, hearing the sound of the gardener coming, he started running here and there in fear, not knowing where to go. He changed his path and went a long way, not knowing where to go, and started crying. Then the sparrow that came there told the little elephant, "Don't be afraid, I will take you to your parents," and started flying as he guided. The elephant, who followed the sparrow, was happy to see its parents. Even though he had scolded the sparrow, the little elephant felt sorry for the sparrow and apologized to the sparrow for helping him. Later, the two became best friends.
Dear little kids, do you treat your friends and relatives with love and affection? Or do you boast about yourself by saying that my bag is very expensive, my pen is the latest model, and I have every colour of dress, and make fun of others? Being proud is not pleasing to the Lord. Thinking of others as insignificant is also not pleasing to the Lord. Do not think of anyone as insignificant anymore. Realize that everyone is the image of Jesus Christ and live with love. May the Lord bless you. Amen.
