Must Be Submissive

 

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” - 1 Peter 5:7

 

A farmer carried a sack of grain to the storehouse. The sack was tightly packed, and the grains inside felt crushed. Some of them decided to escape through a small hole in the sack. They fell onto the road, but soon birds and rats came and ate them. When he put the sacks in the storehouse, some more grains slipped and fell to the ground. They were now able to breathe. But a maid came and gathered them all and threw them into the gutter.

 

The rest of the grains also suffocated under the pressure. It was not known how long this situation would last. They kept shedding tears. One day the farmer came and opened the sack of grain, took the grains to the field and sowed them. The ground was beautiful; the wind was blowing gently. There was food to eat and water to drink. They grew and produced abundant crops. They swayed in the wind happily and proudly.

 

Being under the hand of Jesus is not easy. We have to endure pain and difficult times. If we think of escaping, we will meet a dangerous end. But if we are in the strong hand of Jesus, He will lift us up in due time. So, wait patiently for the due time. The verse says Ps. 27:14 "Wait on the Lord, and He will strengthen your heart; be steadfast, and wait for the Lord."

 

In our lives, suffering and adversity will keep on changing. That is, just as the seasons change, such as summer and rainy season, not everything in our lives will happen according to our wishes. But if we are in the hand of Jesus, we will definitely inherit the benefits. Job, a devotee, says this, in Job 36:11,12, "If they serve him, they will spend their days in prosperity, and their years in abundance."

 

Just as some grains fell on the road and in the house, hoping to escape, they perished. But the grains that were patiently kept in the sack enjoyed their days happily. Let us decide today to endure hardships and losses for Jesus. When the time comes, Jesus will make us happy. Amen! Hallelujah! May the Lord Jesus bless you!
