Patience Is Needed
“The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression” - Prov. 19:11
In a forest, by the side of a river, there was a large fruit tree. A monkey was playing in that tree, jumping here and there. When thirsty, he got down from the tree and drank the water from the river. Then, one day a fruit from the tree fell right on the monkey's head. The monkey was angry! He climbed the tree in anger and plucked all the fruits, ripe or unripe from it and threw it away. Some of the fruits were washed away into the river, while some of the fruits scattered around the area. The monkey was only happy that he had taken revenge on the tree. The monkey went on his way again. After a few days, the fallen fruits started sprouting as plants and later grew into a big tree. The monkey did not know that all these trees were created by him! There is a proverb in Tamil, "A man of anger loses wisdom"! Yes, neither the actions nor the decisions we take in anger are wise.
In the Bible, Saul's anger against David led to loss. But David continued to grow and prosper by the grace of the Lord. In the end, we read in the Bible that Saul and his family were destroyed. Saul's causeless anger and jealousy to eliminate David were the reason for all this.
Dear All! It is natural for all of us in the flesh to get angry. But we should not lose our temper in that anger. We should not make important decisions in anger. A man of God said, "Even if you write a reply letter in anger to a person who has caused trouble without understanding you, do not post it immediately. Keep it for two days. Then you can send it if necessary." Yes, in those two days we will judge the matter, our anger will change. This will prevent the problem from becoming an earthquake. Beloved, revenge is not ours, it is the Lord’s. Therefore, let us live with patience and peace.
Anger is a curse for us!
Forgiveness brings us blessing!
