Expected love

 

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another..." - 1 John 1:7

 

A young girl knew Jesus from her childhood and would ask Jesus for whatever she needed. When she grew up, she left Jesus and went into the ways of the world. However, when she reached her teenage years, she became ill. The doctors said that she would not survive and gave up. But Jesus did not abandon her but went in search of her and gave her complete health. After receiving the benefit from Jesus, she went back into the ways of the world once again and suffered many disappointments and humiliations. When she tried to commit suicide, she saw the face of Jesus. She cried and asked for forgiveness for the love He had shown her since childhood. She is still serving today in ministry. Even though she has changed many times, the love the Lord has for her has not changed.

 

Similarly, in the Bible, before Jesus was crucified, He told His disciples that He would die and rise again on the third day. Then Peter said, “Even if all fall away on account of You, I never will.” Jesus said to him, “This very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” Peter said, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You.” When Jesus was crucified, Peter was sitting in the courtyard of the palace. A servant girl said to Peter, “You were with Jesus, weren’t you?” Peter denied it, saying, “I don’t know.” Similarly, Peter denies Jesus three times. When the rooster crowed, he remembered what Jesus had said, wept bitterly, asked for forgiveness, and was then used mightily by the Lord.

 

Dear Brothers and Sisters! Similarly, God has done many miracles in our lives. But we forget that and sometimes deny Him. Yet He died on the cross to redeem us because of His love for us. The love of a friend may fade, the love of a father may fail, but the love of God never changes. Our precious soul belongs to God. When we return to God, He will give us eternal life. We will live with Him forever in heaven. Therefore, today we are called to love Jesus, who paid the price, redeemed us without any expectations, and shed His last drop of blood for us.
