Something Not to Lose

 

“For I know that my redeemer liveth…” - Job 19:25

 

A man who lived a godly life suddenly lost his good business. As a result, while he was facing many crises, he also lost his wife due to illness. Even though he had to go through many losses, he did not lose his faith or hope in God His calm and steadfast attitude during those dark days amazed many who knew him.

 

The reason he gave for not losing his peace of mind and hope despite all these losses was different. Even though I had to lose many things that were beneficial to my happiness, I did not lose my relationship with God or my hope. He said that the peace and comfort that comes from a relationship with God did not leave me.

 

No matter how much we try to maintain relationships, friendships, wealth, status, good reputations, and honours, in some situations we lose them. It will happen. Job had many positive things like wealth, good relationships, various honours, and good friendships. However, he lost them all in the blink of an eye. Despite living a good and pious life, he could not build and maintain them.

 

However, there was one thing that he did not lose. That was the faith in God's relationship. It was because of the strength that faith gave that he said, "My Savior lives." That was what kept him standing without being shaken. Even after all the wealth, relationships, friendships, and statuses disappeared, that faith in God's relationship was like a lamp that gave light and sustained him in the midst of darkness.

 

Dear Children of God! As long as we do not lose God's relationship, we will not lose the hope, peace of mind, comfort, and joy that comes from that relationship. The strength to endure any loss comes from holding on to God's relationship without losing it.

 

You can lose anything for God, but you should not lose God's relationship for anything.
