Nobel Prize

 

“…for he is a chosen vessel unto me…” - Acts 9:15

 

A man once reading the newspaper saw his own obituary printed there by mistake. Along with his name and photo was written “the merchant of death who invented dynamite” and “the businessman of death.” The shock that the man felt upon seeing it knew no bounds. His mind was shocked that people remembered him as the businessman of death. That event changed his life. He did not want anyone to call him that. From that day on, he started to engage in peace activities. He was Albert Nobel. In his name, the Nobel Prize for peace and other scientific discoveries are awarded every year.

 

We know the apostle Paul in the New Testament. Paul, who was also Saul, had agreed to kill Stephen, who was filled with the Holy Spirit. This Saul was the one who went to the chief priests to threaten and kill the disciples of the Lord and asked for letters to bind and bring Christians to Jerusalem if he found them. The Lord wanted to meet the person who was living like this that day through Ananias. But when Ananias said about Paul, "I have heard from many about him, how much evil he did to your saints in Jerusalem." In this way, the Lord met Saul and changed all his unpeaceful circumstances and made him a vessel chosen by the Lord.

 

Dear readers! In the days when we did not know the Lord, we would have sinned. We would have lived far from the Lord. We should accept Jesus and live in peace. Just as Albert Nobel examined his life and acted, let us also turn our lives towards Calvary. Let us not live as murderers like Saul, but build churches and disciples like Paul. Through this, we will aspire to receive the Nobel Prize for the Kingdom of Heaven.
