Let us do anything for the Lord

 

“And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do...?” - Acts 9:6

 

Just as Apostle Paul had a divine vision, in India too there arose a man Sadhu Sundar Singh who, like Saul, once opposed the faith but later became known as “The Apostle of India”.

 

His life journey closely resembles that of the saints in the Bible. He also has the experience of Jeremiah who was thrown into a desolate well. Once, when Sadhu Sundar Singh went to preach the gospel in Tibet, he was caught and thrown into a deep well, filled with the bones of many people and the stench of rotting corpses, he prayed for three days. A man lifted him out through a rope and disappeared. Like the Apostle Paul, Sadhu Sundar Singh has the experience of being led by the Spirit, and the experience of Philip being led by the Holy Spirit. Thousands of people who saw his work, teachings, and experience dedicated themselves to the work of God as missionaries. ust as he consecrated himself, let us also dedicate our lives to God’s service and call others to join in the harvest of souls.

 

He has served in Tibet, Nepal, and many parts of India. He is very simple, sweet, and excellent at teaching the things in the Bible through parables. The books he wrote are the pillars of Christian life. Let us pray that more people rise up like this man, who was called the 'Apostle with Bleeding Feet'. His life encourages us to die as martyrs and to surrender ourselves to the Lord. 

 

We pray not only for our own needs, but let us also take up this prayer that Jesus Himself asked us to pray: "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest” - (Matt. 9:38)

 

“Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ” - (Col. 3:24). The foremost task before us today is the work of spreading the Gospel. We need to pray for a multitude of believers to arise to do this. Let us pray that God will raise up people who will give so that the needs of this can be met. May God Himself use all of us in His great work. Amen.
