The Ending is Good

 

“Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof…” - Ecclesiastes 7:8

 

Rajagopal, from his youth, belonged to the 'There is no God' denial movement. He is also influential in politics and is a wealthy farmer. One day, someone told him about Jesus Christ and gave him a Bible. He started reading it and learned about Jesus and the kingdom of heaven. Sometimes he even raises questions from the Bible. When he became ill at the age of eighty, a worker came to see him. He also strengthened himself, sat up and said to the visitor, "Sir, I am going to die. I have lived happily in this village. If anyone asks me for money for God's work, I will speak against the work. Now you must pray to Jesus for me. He confessed his sins like a child and prayed that he should not become bedridden and go to Jesus. He reached the kingdom of God in a few days, having been saved.

 

One of the thieves crucified with Jesus taunted him, saying, "Come down from the cross." A thief, who had seen Jesus praying to the Father and forgiving others, rebuked the thief who had taunted him. He said to Jesus, "Jesus, remember my servant when you come into your kingdom." Jesus also said, "Today you will be with me in paradise." A thief who lived as a thief took advantage of the opportunity he had at the end of his life and went to paradise.

 

How are we today? Even if our beginning was excellent, our ending must also be complete and right. When we finish our race, we must go with Jesus into His kingdom. Our wealth or money cannot take us into the eternal kingdom. Only by confessing our sins and turning our hearts can we reach heaven. There is only one way to eternity. In trials and suffering we must obey God’s command. Therefore, hold firmly to the salvation you have received until the end. The one who endures to the finish will be saved.
