Daily Devotion (English) - 03.06.2021

Fully Convinced

 

“He… was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God and being fully convinced that what he had promised he was also able to perform…” - Romans 4: 20,21

 

A certain man was walking along the mountain area at night. Unexpectedly he slipped and was rolling down the slope. He felt a branch of a tree and got a grip on the branch and was hanging from it. As it was dark, he did not know how deep the slope was. He prayed to God for help. God said, “Take your hands off the branch and I shall help you”. The man asked, “How can I take off my hands? If I leave off my hands, I shall fall”. Saying this he caught hold of the branch tightly. As he was hanging for a long time, his hands began to ache. He again prayed to God to help him. God said to Him, “Have faith in me and take off your hands”. He was hanging all night not knowing how deep it was and what would happen if he fell. The day began to dawn. He opened his eyes and looked down. He was hanging just few feet above the bottom of the slope. If he had trusted God and obeyed, he would not have hanged all night filled with fear of death, pain and tremble.

 

We read in the Holy Bible, how Abraham was commended as, “not being weak in faith he did not consider his own body already dead as he was about a hundred years old and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but strengthened in faith giving glory to God” (Romans 4: 19 – 21). 

 

Beloved in Christ, we may be anticipating an answer for our problem. Have we made the matter known to God and left it in God’s hands trusting Him completely? Or are we holding fast to our wish and plan like the man who held the branch without committing ourselves to God? God is ready to accomplish everything appropriately at the right time! Are we ready to receive the miracle?
