The Desire of Jesus
“Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest” - Matthew 9:38
In a town called Chattram, a servant of God was holding a weekly prayer meeting in a house on Fridays. The family, who did not know the Lord, came to know Jesus through this. But all the people in that village acted against this ministry. They repeatedly made trouble so that the servant of God would not enter the village. One Sunday, unexpectedly, another servant had to enter the village. Immediately, a large crowd of people surrounded the servant and planned to beat him. At that moment, someone from the house where the prayer meeting was held stepped forward and began to testify about the wonders the Lord had done for them. The head of that house had once been deaf. But after prayer, she received complete healing and not only that, but their poverty-stricken condition also changed. She said that all this happened to them only after they accepted Jesus as their personal Savior. The people gathered stood speechless after hearing this.
In the New Testament, we know a man possessed by an unclean spirit. The man’s dwelling was among the tombs. No one could bind him, not even with chains. Jesus gave such a man miraculous healing. The man possessed by the unclean spirit immediately sat up and regained his senses, and the people were afraid. Jesus said to him, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has had mercy on you and how much he has done for you.” So, he went and began to proclaim all that Jesus had done for him.
Dear readers, we have heard and read about such events many times. But many times, we do not come forward to proclaim the Lord. We are still delaying. Those of you who are reading this do not stop reading this, but rather, do whatever you can to glorify the name of the Lord and to gain eternal life, using the talent that the Lord has given us, and work hard for Him. This is a time to think, a time to act. Therefore, do not remain silent. Think! and Act!
