Daily Devotion (English) – 14.09.2025 (Kids Special)

 

Jimmy and John

 

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" - Rev.3:20

 

John lived happily with his parents in a beautiful village. John loved pet animals very much. So, he bought a beautiful puppy and named it 'Jimmy'. The puppy was white, with black eyes, and was very cute. John raised the puppy very lovingly. He would play with it every day. Then, when the puppy grew a little, he would put a chain around the puppy's neck and take it outside to play.

 

Days passed. One day, John was standing there with tears in his eyes when his mother asked, "What's wrong, John? Why are you crying like this?" He said, "Mom, I can't find my Jimmy”. His mom asked, “But you always hold him by the chain. Why did you let him go?” John replied, “When I took Jimmy out, he saw another puppy and started playing with it. I unchained him, and while I was watching him play, he suddenly disappeared!”

 

I also thought that he would come back after playing. I kept calling Jimmy... Jimmy for a long time. But Jimmy never came, he cried. Immediately, Mom said, "Okay, come, don't cry, I will buy you another puppy," and she took him away. But John often thought, "I don't know where my Jimmy has gone and what suffering it is going through. I raised him with all my heart." Every day, John would go and look for Jimmy in the place where he had lost him. One day, John saw Jimmy lying on the side of the road with a weak and thin body, and he ran and picked him up and happily brought him home. He began to take care of him even more than before. From that day on, Jimmy never left him.

 

Dear children, have you also, like Jimmy, disobeyed Jesus' words and made a mistake and gone far away from him? Run back to Jesus, he is waiting for you eagerly. Jesus is ready to embrace you again and make you his child. Okay?
