God is the One Who Gives Rewards

 

“... as I (Adoni-Bezek) have done, so God hath requited me” – Judges 1:7

 

A pious, wealthy old woman woke up one day to a dream. She printed it as a leaflet of what she learned through that dream and gave it to many people. The dream she had was that after she died, an angel of God took her to heaven and showed her a small house and said, "This is the reward God has given you." But in front of their house, in a large house that was built very grandly, there was a mother whom they knew. That mother lived in a small house on earth. Surprised, she asked the angel what the poor woman had done to get such a grand house.

 

The angel of God replied, "This poor woman gave her everything beyond her means to the service of God." They not only served beyond their strength but also prayed to God for a long time in private. When she woke up, she realized that what she had seen was a dream and was very happy. "Thank you, God, for the message of the dream that you have shown me, and showing me how to do it," she said. So she did not only do these three things for herself, but also printed and distributed the message to others to do the same and helped many.

 

In the first chapter of the book of Judges in the Bible, the word of Adoni-bezek's testimony should be written in letters of gold: "As I have done, so God has repaid me. I have cut off the thumbs and big toes of seventy kings; they have eaten what fell under my table. God has done to me as I have done." King Saul was also rejected from his kingship because of selfishness and favouritism. The good we do has its reward, and the bad has its reward. We should not harm anyone.

 

“All flesh has been created by God. Of all flesh He says, “I will pour out My Spirit.” Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. They will be like angels in heaven. Let us especially do good to the family of believers. We will receive the reward for the good and evil done to the people of faith. God is the one who gives rewards. Amen.
