The Greatness of the Bible

 

“I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing” - Hosea 8:12

 

Because of a doctor’s wrong treatment, Fanny Crosby, at just six weeks old, lost sight in both her eyes. In her childhood, her grandmother taught her many things. She developed the skill to recognize flowers by their fragrance, and to identify trees by touching them. From a young age, she began memorizing Scriptures and had memorized the Genesis, Psalms, Proverbs, Ruths etc.. It helped her a lot in her spiritual life.

 

The book of Psalms is the most loved and readable part of the Old Testament by everyone. This psalm is a favourite reading for everyone, from adults to children. Most of it was written by David, who can be called the "Psalmist." David says, "You have dealt well with your servant according to your word; teach me your statutes. The scriptures you have taught me are better to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver."

 

Dear brothers and sisters! The only book that is printed and sold the most in the world today is the Bible. Many have died as blood witnesses so that we can have this scripture in our mother tongue. If we knew the greatness of the Bible, it will be impossible for us not to read it. When we pray, we talk to the Lord. When we read the Bible, the Lord talks to us. It can give new life and encouragement to everyone who reads it. The verses in the Bible are more valuable than precious things like gold, silver, and diamonds. These verses of the Bible have been written to us by the Holy Spirit. Let us read the Bible more on days when our eyesight is good. If a blind little girl could memorize hundreds of chapters, what about us? Let us teach our children to read the Bible. Let us spend more time meditating on the Bible, because there will come a time when it will be a famine to get the scripture. So let us love and read the Bible. Let us apply it in our lives. When our hearts are filled with the Word of God, the words we speak will also have power. They will also be able to heal the wounds of others.
