Swimming Against the Current

 

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…" - Romans 8:28

 

My father worked as the headmaster of a middle school. I had six siblings. The Lord had blessed our family greatly. In those days, we had a chicken farm with 300 chickens, 6 cows, and 15 coconut trees. The Lord had blessed us so much. At home, it was my job to take care of household chores and manage the house. Since I was the eldest child in the family, I took care of the house and also was working as a teacher.

 

Later, I got married and lived in a joint family. My husband also had six siblings. Since my husband and I both worked, I was given the responsibility of running the family. That means we had to deal with many problems and confusions in the family. We had to endure many hardships and tribulations. By the great grace of the Lord, I swam against the tide and did not drown, and God stood by me in many close situations and gave me the grace to overcome everything. Because I endured many hardships, God blessed me to serve as the principal of a middle school for 35 years. During my days as the principal of the school, God gave me the ability and privilege to effectively manage the school in a peaceful and harmonious manner. I am happy to tell my testimony for the glory of God's name.

 

My beloved! The Lord can elevate us only through many trials and disciplines. Tribulations and sufferings make us dependent on God alone. When we go through such hardships, God will adorn us with blessings. So, even if the things that come into our lives seem bad, let us swim against them with faith that God will turn them into good and win. May the Lord help you.
