Have you forgotten?
“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee” - Isaiah 49:15
One evening, I went to a hostel to do ministry work. A little girl was standing near the door of the hostel, crying. I asked her why she was crying. The answer given by the little girl moved me deeply. My mother and father left me in this school hostel and said to me, "We will pick you up every Friday evening. So don't worry, stay in this hostel with courage." It has been a year now. But so far, they have not come to take me back home. She said with tears in her eyes that my mother and father have forgotten me.
A similar incident is also written in the Bible. The Lord sent the prophet Samuel to anoint Jesse's son as king of Israel. When he got there, Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel. Then Samuel said to Jesse, "The Lord has not chosen any of these." And when he asked Jesse, "Are these all your sons?" Jesse remembered that he had forgotten his youngest son, David. Jesse immediately replied, "There is still one of the youngest. He is tending the sheep." Thus, we see a father who has forgotten his own son.
Dear friends, Like the parents who forgot the little girl, and like the father who forgot his child, we may be living in a situation where everyone has forgotten us. How painful it is for our family to forget us. We know how painful "forgetting" is. Have you ever thought about how often we forget God? We forget the vows and covenants we made with the Lord. We forget how the Lord saved us, anointed us, and chose us, and we live according to our hearts. We forget the good things He has done and the blessings He has given us, and we are often ungrateful. Isn't God's heart also pained like this at times? Let's think about it today. Let's get close to Jesus.
