“But their eyes were holden that they should not know him” - Luke 24:16
I was a gold medallist in school at studies, but I failed in higher education. At that time, I was worried about what my future would be like and who would guide me. My life seemed dark. When I realized that Jesus was with me, my closed eyes were opened. The Lord comforted me, guided me, and was present. He blessed me and led me on the path of success. He helped me rewrite and pass the failed subjects and then blessed me to become an officer in a bank. He continues to lead me on His path to this day.
Similarly, in a very troubled situation, the eyes of the disciples were closed. Two of the disciples went to a village called Emmaus, seven or eight miles from Jerusalem. As they went along, they talked with one another about these things. And as they kept walking and talking, Jesus also went along with them. But their eyes were held so that they did not recognize him. Jesus then began to speak about the Scriptures, how the Christ must suffer, die, be buried, and rise again on the third day, and he showed them that he was going away from them and the disciples urged Him to stay with them. So, He went in with them. And as he was eating with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to them; and their eyes were opened, and they recognized him.
Beloved in Christ! When problems arise in our lives, we are troubled about who will help us. But our eyes are held and we do not recognize that the risen Jesus Christ is with us in power. Only when God opens those hidden eyes will we know the greatness of the One who promised to be with us. Suicide is not a solution to the failures and inabilities that occur in our lives. We should not forget that Jesus Christ, the risen One, who never abandons us under any circumstances, is with us. Whenever our hidden eyes are opened, we can realize the power of Jesus and that He is with us. Realize that only our Lord Jesus Christ can turn us towards the ladder that leads to victory and dedicate your life to Him and receive His blessings!
