The Meaning of Life
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you..." - Jeremiah 1:5
In a forest, animals and birds held a conference. "What is the meaning of life?" was the topic of discussion. The cuckoo said that life is to sing. The peacock said that life is to dance. The deer said that life is to run. The bee said that life is to search. The crow said that life is to gather. The ant said that life is to save. The fox said that life is to deceive. Each one gave their own idea. The discussion went on and on. Finally, they all agreed: “Let’s go ask God.” So, they started walking and they are still walking even today.
Many people are living without knowing the meaning of life. Who will tell them the meaning and make them clear? That is the duty that has fallen upon us. That is why God chose each of us before we were formed in our mother's womb. When I thought that death was certain because of illness, a mother said to me, “Jesus Christ did not create you to be sick and die, but to be free from illness and live for many years.” Then I realized that the meaning of life is not to die from illness, but to live free from illness.
Some people live in many hardships and losses every day. All they say is that my life is full of hardship. No, my beloved people, come to Jesus Christ to be free from our hardships and live happily. The Lord says to the sick and to those who shed tears with the burden of debt, “Come to me; I will give you rest.” When we tell others how our lives have changed, they will ask the Lord and Savior Jesus for the meaning of their lives. Our compassionate Lord will surely make their lives meaningful.
Having found the meaning of life, we should not remain silent and start telling others about it. The reason God knew us in our mother’s womb is that we should not delay in telling others about the meaning of life. (2 Cor. 6:2) "Behold, now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation". Let us not think that we must do it today and see tomorrow. (Prov. 27:1) "...you do not know what a day may bring forth". We do not know what tomorrow may bring forth. Therefore, whatever we do for the Lord, let us do it today. May the Lord bless you.
