A Lesson from the Ant

 

“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise” - Proverbs 6:6

 

A beautiful, dense forest was home to all kinds of animals and birds. An ant and a grasshopper often met there and became friends. Whenever the two met, the ant would say, "Oh! I have a lot of work to do, I'm going, see you tomorrow," and leave. The grasshopper would laugh to himself. What kind of work would this tiny little ant have? He wastes his life without enjoying himself and always working! He would think like this. But the ant is always busy and always attentive to his work. What kind of work does this ant do? What do you think, little ones? The ant worked hard to store up food for the rainy season because it knew that during heavy rains, it wouldn’t be able to go out and search for food and it could even be washed away by the rain! So, the ant worked during the summer and saved food for later.

 

And what about the grasshopper? Well, it spent all its time hopping around happily without doing any work. When the ant asked, “You’re always roaming around without doing anything. What will you do when the rains come?” the grasshopper said, “Oh, I’ll see when that happens! Stop bothering me!” and flew away. In a few days, the rainy season came. The ant stayed inside the house, ate as much as he could and lived without worries. But the grasshopper, soaked in the rain and unable to go out in search of food, was shivering in the cold and was hungry, waiting pitifully for the rain to stop. But in the forest, the rain didn’t stop so quickly, and the grasshopper suffered a lot. Think about the situation, kids!

 

If you waste all the time, without studying and keep playing, you will be like a grasshopper during the exam. If you do not do your homework, you will have to lie. But if you are active and study your lessons for the day, you will not have to worry about the exam, won't you be happy? Kids! from now on, pray every day, be active and finish the lessons given that day. JESUS will help you and bless you.
