God is the One Who Remembers

 

“But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me;..” - Psalm 40:17

 

It was a time when I had just completed my teacher training amidst many struggles. Relatives and neighbors said, “You somehow finished the training, but there is no chance of getting a government job. Apply in a private school and start working. It will help your family.”

 

Believing that Jesus knew my situation, I followed their advice and joined a private school.

 

Exactly one year after completing my studies, I read the headline "Government is dissolved and Governor takes charge of the state". The main news was that the Governor had signed the first signature in his office to fill the vacant teacher posts across Tamil Nadu in the next few days. Within the next week, I received a call for an interview at home. I was filled with boundless joy. I was amazed when I received three letters one after the other, saying that I had been selected and was ordered to join the service. In the next three days, I joined the service as a teacher at Arani Primary School in Thiruvallur district, which is located near my place, in 1988.

 

The verse of the scripture, "This was done by the Lord, it is marvelous in our eyes," was fulfilled in my life. When I received the service order in my hand, tears welled up in my eyes, and asked myself "Is it for me? A government job? My heart was filled with joy. Yes, the Lord is near to all who sincerely seek Him. He was like that to me and put my work first. He will do the same for you. The Lord intervened in politics for me and gave me a service order through the Governor, how good He is!

 

Dear friends! Do you know what you need to do for Him to do great things for you? Believe in Him, there is nothing that He cannot do. All things are possible for Him. You must trust Him with all your heart. He will surely do what you need! He will do the same for you as he did for me. He will open doors for things that are forbidden. In my 30 years of teaching, I retired with many promotions, awards, and commendations. Even in my old age I continued to follow him. "Our faith is the victory that overcomes this world." Amen.
