The Rock That Will Not Forsake

 

“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up” - Psalm 27:10

 

I was born in a rural area in Tenkasi district. When I was 3 years old, my father died. I was the only child of three siblings. My mother was worried about how she would raise us. So my maternal uncle took me to Nagaland. When I was 17 years old, my mother came looking for me. I was surprised to learn that she was my mother and that I had sisters. My mother took me to my hometown, and told me to go to work and earn money. My mother would come and take it away even before I received my salary.

 

One day, my boss took me to a church for a night shift. I saw a verse written on the wall there, "Honor your father and your mother." I asked my boss, what was written on that wall? He told me about Jesus. I came home and told my mother that I will obey you. Then I went out of town to work and earned money and gave it to my mother. One day my leg got swollen. The doctors examined me and said that I had blood cancer and told me to go to Adyar Hospital in Chennai. There my mother left me alone and returned home. I was an orphan in the hospital for six months and I longed for someone to come and visit me. One day when I was bedridden, my boss called me and said, "Jesus loves you very much." That very day I got up and started walking and talking. The doctor was surprised. I immediately told them that Jesus had healed me, and I am going home. They said that you will die in twenty days and sent me home But when I reached home, my family refused to accept me and sent me away.

 

Then my boss, who introduced me to Jesus Christ, joined me in a church. Knowing the love of Jesus, one day I heard about the village missionary movement and joined that ministry. By the grace of the Lord, we have been serving among children as a family. Dear friends, everyone has driven me away, I am left alone! Are you yearning for where to find refuge, comfort and love? Do not be afraid. Come to the Lord and He will take you in.
