Praise and Sing

 

“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” - Psalm 34:1

 

A few years ago, my family was hit hard by a severe financial crisis. As a result of a loss in business, I was unable to pay my children's school fees on time. I could feel that God, who promised that “I would never leave you nor forsake you” was with me in the midst of that difficult situation. We began to praise the Lord as a family every day. According to the verse that the Lord will do all things for me, the Lord gradually gave us victory in all the things that had failed. The Lord showed us the grace to recover what was lost.

 

In the Holy Bible, in Joshua chapter 6, we read that Jericho was besieged before the children of Israel. The Israelites received the promises and walked in peace. They carried the ark of the covenant. When the trumpets were blown, the walls of Jericho fell. They marched once a day for six days. On the seventh day, the Lord commanded them to march seven times. Historians say that it took four miles to march around the walls of Jericho once. So on the seventh day, they must have walked 28 miles. They are passing through this situation peacefully without any murmuring or arguing. On the seventh day, when the trumpets were blown, the walls of Jericho that stood as an obstacle fell.

 

Yes, beloved! Your praise will shake problems like the walls of Jericho and will make the walls of obstacles fall. Yes, the weapon that the Lord has created to break down obstacles is the weapon of praise. The more you praise the Lord, the more the walls of Jericho will crumble. What is our attitude in the midst of the failures, problems, and hardships that may come our way? If we seek after men, our situation will become worse. On the contrary, if we look to the Lord who knows all the circumstances of our lives and praise Him, our lives will change. The Lord will fill us with His Word and power so that no one can stand before us. The walls will crumble, and a new door will open before us. That door will lead us into green days. Yes, we are going to inherit Canaan, flowing with milk and honey. Hallelujah!
