The One who remembered us when we were low.
“Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever” – Psalm 136:23
When a person lives well, many people will surround him. If one day he falls in life, everyone will leave him. They will stand a step away as if they were looking at an enemy. This is the condition of humans!
In 2005, our life was at the peak of financial blessings. I would say my hands ache from counting money, such a prosperity! However, in a few years, due to selfishness, we ploughed wide instead of deep, and suffered losses in our business and were unable to repay our loans. We were ashamed in front of our families and society. Our relatives, friends and acquaintances helped us only to a certain extent, and then they withdrew. At one point, we were struggling even to get a meal. It was then that we felt the need to look to God.
After that, we joined hands as husband and wife and prayed. No matter who abandoned us, God did not abandon us. God gave us a clear mind. God put some plans in my husband's mind, saying that this was the way for us to move forward, "like a clear spring in the midst of a troubled pond." Without giving up faith, we moved forward gradually with God as our only crutch. We paid off all our debts one by one. Today, everyone is amazed at us. In the days when we went through valley-like experiences, we think about the grace that God had been with us and guided us. More people knew about us when we were low than when we were high.
Today, we and our family only exalt and glorify God. Beloved, think about the grace of God who guided us in the days of humiliation and in the midst of suffering. Praise the One who thought of us in our low state. His grace is eternal. Only God can lift us up in our lowliness and in the abyss! He alone is worthy of praise. Amen! Hallelujah!
