In My Hopeless Life...
“O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.” - Psalm 65:2
Born in a Christian family, I was raised by my parents with devotion. I used to do everything regularly, such as reading the Bible, praying, and going to church. However, during my 11th grade, I started mingling with bad company. I began skipping classes and even went to the extent of buying beer while in school uniform. When I was in 12th grade, I had one failure after another. When I shared it with my friends, they said, "You too, smoke marijuana like us, and everything will be fine." I also became addicted to beer, marijuana, and many other drugs. I lived a rough life. The neighbours who saw me told my parents. Due to this, they shifted to another town with great pain, wondering if there would be any change if they separated from these friends. When I came here, my bad habits only increased, not decreased. Even though many friends died from drug injections, I couldn't stop. Once, in a drug-induced rage, I locked my parents inside our house, snatched the key, opened the gas valve, and threatened to kill them
During the lockdown, my parents made me watch the Christian program “Jebikalam Vaanga". I would watch it half-heartedly, and then I would go and inject drugs again. One day, a testimony was shared on the program, and they gave five minutes for personal prayer. I prayed, “Jesus, please deliver me from these addictions.” After the program was over, I went to the prayer room at home and started talking to Jesus alone. Then I felt a voice speaking to me in my heart, "You must not do any drugs for two days. I will give you freedom." I prayed in tears, “Jesus, I can’t go even two days without drugs. You must give me strength.” How wonderful, God gave me complete freedom from all my drug addictions in just two days. Glory be to Jesus. Now I am serving in the media field in the village missionary ministry.
Friends! Perhaps you are also trapped in such slavery and are unable to get out, causing pain to your parents and family? Pray to the Lord with a cry to come out of this. Pray, Lord, I cannot do this by my strength. You alone must help me. You will definitely be free. Isn't it more certain that the one who freed me will free you?
