What is but what?...
“Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God…" - Romans 8:36,39
My name is Praveen John Thomas. In 2009, at the age of 15, both my kidneys failed. After 7 months of dialysis, one of my mother’s kidneys was transplanted into me and from heron was on a high dose of medication. In this situation, my lungs were damaged, and I was admitted to the ICU because I could not breathe. So, while waiting for the endoscopy treatment, I saw a shadowy figure pass by me and lie down where I was supposed to lie. They made me lie down in the same place. An elderly doctor performed the endoscopy, put a tube through my mouth and examined my lungs. My left lung looked like it was covered in dark green algae. After the examination, he tapped me on the shoulder and said that you are one of the top 3 people who have cooperated with this treatment in my experience for so long. But only I know that my God accepted my suffering and went to that bed! In this too, my God gave me life. Over the years, I encountered many infections and diseases, including COVID. But through it all, for the past 15 years, my God has protected me as the apple of His eye
The Lord blessed me with the grace to serve in the media sector in the Village Missionary Movement for 4 years from 2020. In this situation, my body became weak again. The doctor who examined me told me that your mother's kidney has also failed, and from now on, there is no other option in your life except dialysis. Many questions and worries filled my mind. While I was thinking about this, they put a big needle in my neck and performed another operation for dialysis. A brother named Lawrence, who works in the dialysis unit at that hospital, said, “Even if you can’t bear all this pain and suffering, this is better than going to hell.” My heart was comforted a little. Now, my faith is that God will deliver me from all my circumstances. Even if He doesn’t deliver me, the Lord is my God! God has graciously given me the opportunity to tell patients like me about the Lord whenever I go to the hospital twice a week for blood purification.
Our God is bigger than our problems and illnesses. No amount of suffering, pain, or illness can separate us from His love. The words that often ring in my heart are, “If there is one life, let it go for Jesus!” No matter how bad the situation is, I keep doing what I can for God. No problem, pain, or illness can separate those who truly love God from His love. No matter how difficult life is, the God who keeps us alive is with us. Don’t be afraid.
