Obedience is the best

 

"If ye love me, keep my commandments" - John 14:15

 

Hello dear little ones! How are you all, have you settled in the new class? Start studying the lessons from the beginning, only then will you not be nervous during the exam time. O.K. Little ones! Today we are going to listen to a Bible Story. If you obey Jesus, there is a new blessing. We are going to listen to a true Bible story about that.

 

There was a family called the Rechabites. Who all live in your house? In those days, people lived in big joint families with grandparents, uncles, and aunts. The Rechabite family was just like that. Do you know what they did? They did exactly what their father Jonadab told them. Surprised? How do you listen to your parents? It's always a little hard to obey right away. But the Rechabite family obeyed, and God Himself praised them for it. The people of Israel were chosen by God. The Lord expected them to obey by telling them certain things through the prophet Jeremiah. But the people of Israel did not obey God, which made Him very sad. In contrast, the obedience of the Rechabite family made God happy. (Jeremiah 35)

 

Now you must be wondering, “What exactly did they obey?” Well, Prophet Jeremiah invited the Rechabite family into a room filled with pots and cups of wine and asked them to drink it. But they said, “We won’t drink it. Our father Jonadab told us not to drink wine, not to build houses, but to live in tents and not to plant vineyards. We have obeyed his words till this day.” Jeremiah was amazed at their obedience! But the children of God were not obeying His word. This disobedience deeply grieved God. This story is written in the Bible to show us how much disobedience hurts God’s heart

 

Dear Children, If you don’t obey your parents, think about how sad it makes them. In the same way, if we don’t obey Jesus and His words, He too will feel very sad. So, kids! Are you ready to obey God's Word and make Jesus happy? Close your eyes and say this short prayer. Jesus, help me to obey your word and live a life that makes you happy, Jesus. Amen.
