Can Bones Live?

 

"And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live?..." - Ezek. 37:3

 

A pastor made an announcement in his church. That was, that our 'church funeral service' would be held today at 6 pm! So he said that all the congregation should participate in the funeral service. The congregation was shocked. Is it a church funeral? Is the church dead? They went with the question mark. When 6 pm came, all the congregation gathered in the church with great anticipation. The coffin was placed in front of them. The pastor began the service. Looking at the congregation, he said that those who were paying their last respects should come forward in a row, and after paying their respects, we will leave for the burial. The congregation went forward to pay their last respects. They looked at the coffin with great interest. Those who saw it were shocked and covered their faces with tears in their eyes and went to their seats. Do you know the reason? The pastor had a large mirror in the coffin. When each person who came to pay their last respects looked at the coffin, their own face was visible in the mirror.

 

The pastor immediately explained it. "You are the church." And I see that many of you are spiritually lifeless, neither hot nor cold, without any connection to the Lord and yourselves. He said, "I came to this conclusion to make you realize that."

 

In a similar way, the Lord brought the prophet Ezekiel to a valley full of dry bones. And the Lord asked him: “Son of man, can these bones live?” Ezekiel humbly answered, “Sovereign Lord, only You know.

 

Beloved, even though we have received physical benefits but are dry in spiritual life, only God can revive your dry bones. He will revive the soul and the church that have become lifeless and make us stand firm. Alleluia! Amen.
