Fervent Prayer

 

"…and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" - James 5:16

 

Many people know about Hudson Taylor, a minister who was the cause of the revival in China. His mother was a fervent prayer warrior. He was saved by their prayers. They always prayed that Hudson would become a great minister of God. However, at the age of 15, Hudson started working at a bank, lost interest in prayer, mocked Christians, and lived a godless life. This was very painful for his mother.

 

One day, Hudson's mother was praying fervently for her son at noon. Since Hudson was on vacation that day, he went into his father's room to look for a book to read. He found a Christian pamphlet called 'All Is Finished.' When he read it, the Spirit intervened. That very day, Hudson was saved and became a new man.

 

Doesn’t the Bible also say in James 5:16 that the fervent prayer of a righteous man has great power? Therefore, our prayer for someone is very powerful. That night, through the prayer of Paul and Silas in the middle of the night in the prison, not only did the prison doors shake, but the jailer and his family were saved. (Acts 16:30-32)

 

Beloved! Have you been praying for the salvation of your family and relatives for a long time, like Hudson’s mother prayed? Do you feel that they are slaves to something, without freedom? And are they stuck in something and struggling to get out? God will surely answer your fervent prayer and supplication for them. Our fervent prayer is very powerful. Amen.
