Make known

“…how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard?” - Romans 10:14

Having the heroes of cinema as his role model, a certain young boy enjoyed his life. He followed the false vanities of the world that gave pleasure in his life and believed firmly that they would enhance his success in life. During his college days, one of his friends used to tell him, “Don’t run after vanity; Seek Jesus who is eternal and unchanging.” But that youth ridiculed him and rejected Jesus. But his friend did not give up. He often instilled the truth in his mind. Later in his life the youth was in a very difficult situation. At that time what his friend shared with him about Jesus came to his mind. He had a doubt whether his college mate told him might be true or not. So, he prayed to God and said, “Show me that you are real.” That very night Jesus showed Himself alive to him in his dream. Thus, the youth accepted Jesus as his saviour with joy. Later he bore sufferings and struggles and stood for Christ with zeal. He accepted God’s calling and he has been doing full time ministry now. 

Philip took his friend Nathanael to Jesus. Nathanael came up to Jesus like a child and got the answer for all his queries from Him. Thus, his doubts about Jesus were cleared and queries were answered. He recognized Jesus as the son of God and the king of Israel. To make this happen, Philip was the vessel used by God. 

There are people around us who have not heard about Jesus and who have doubts, disbelief and queries about Jesus. We are chosen by God to give light to those who are in darkness, to enlighten their understanding, to answer to their queries, to clear their doubts and to strengthen their belief. At the outset we must make known Jesus to them. Some may hurt us or mock us. They may not accept Jesus at once. But a day will certainly come, when they need Jesus more and more. At that time, the love of Jesus we shared with them long back will work wonders in them. Amen.
