Happy Birthday

“Ye are the salt of the earth;…" - Matthew 5:13

Hello little ones! Have you gone to the next class? You must have got a new teacher, a new classroom, and new friends, it is so much fun. In this new academic year, you should study well from the beginning. Okay kids. Now we are going to look at something that is available in every home in this world. Without it, we cannot eat, what is it? You are thinking about it. Want a clue? Alright let’s start the story.

There was a very rich man in a town. There was no one who did not know him. He would help everyone. There was an aunty who cooked in that house, she cooked deliciously. The birthday of that rich man came. Relatives and friends gave him different gifts in gold, silver, and diamonds. The employees came to congratulate the boss, ate the feast and left. The next day he began opening all the gifts. There was a diamond ring, a gold watch and many other wonderful items. Only one parcel was left. When he looked at it, he saw a packet of salt, shocked he asked, who gave this? The name of the aunty who works as a cook was written on it. The boss got very angry.

Do you have any sense? Will someone gift salt? He scolded and said, "Take it back and go." Even Jesus said that you are the salt of the earth. Thinking of this, the cook gave salt, but the boss got very angry, thinking that the cook forgot to put salt in the food cooked that day. Everyone in that rich house sat down to eat and said that there was no food, the food was tasteless, everyone got up and left. That's when the boss thought how important salt is. He knew that he can't eat all the expensive gifts like gold and silver that he got. He said that all I need now is that salt. The aunty who works as a cook quickly brought the required amount of salt and mixed it in everyone's food. Everyone who was full ate happily and they learned the importance of salt.

So, kids! The proverb "A saltless food is a waste" is true. You too should live a life that is as delicious as salt. If Jesus is with you, you will become a blessing to everyone. That's right, kids!
