Two Friends

 

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" - John 15:13

 

Two friends were on the battlefield during a border war. When the enemy army attacked, one of the friends was unexpectedly hit by a bullet and was about to die. When his friend saw this from a distance, he ran to save his friend and told the officer there what had happened. When he tried to go to the place where his friend was lying, his superior stopped him. But he did not care about his life, and even though the battle was going on, he ran and shouted, "Friend! I am coming to save you." He picked up his injured friend, carried him on his shoulder and went back very quickly. When the superior saw this he said, "Your friend has died,". The man replied, "My friend died in my lap." How tender was the affection of that friend who tried to save his friend even though he knew that he would die.

 

How precious was love. God revealed that love. We who live in this world need friends until the end of our lives. That is why the Bible also says in Luke-16:9 "Make friends for yourselves with unrighteous wealth, so that when you die, they may receive you into your eternal homes." Good friends are those who love more than life, who can live by giving up. They always live in unity by interceding for each other. Friends are easy to find. But good friends are very difficult to find. But the one who is always our best friend is Jesus. He shed his last drop of blood on the cross for us, to save us. That Jesus is with us the same yesterday, today, and forever.

 

Therefore, just as God loved us, let us also love others. Let us make many friends. Let us live happily.
