Guiding cross

“…He knows the way that I take…” – Job 23:10  

That day Varshini was extremely happy. Even while getting up from bed, she was lively and cheerful. She ran here and there and she herself selected the dress and got dressed quickly. Then she urged her mother to get ready fast as she was slackening a bit. Do you know why she was so excited? That day they had their family outing to zoo. That was why her joy was doubled. We all like to visit the zoo, don’t we? Can you name some animals kept in the zoo? Yes, lion, tiger, elephant, deer etc. Have you been on a trip to the zoo? Ok, fine. Oh! Did you go with your classmates? The majestic lion will create some fear in us, won’t it? 

Ok, Varshini was going around the zoo. She was astonished at some animals. The zoo was crowded with people. When her father advised her to hold his hand tight, she obeyed him. But she liked to watch each animal for a long time. So, she let go off her father’s hand and said that she would follow them carefully. Her parents often turned back to check if she was coming after them. After walking a short distance, they found Varshini missing. Her parents were panic. They called out to her, “Varshini, Varshini” loudly. But Varshini lost her way and she was walking out of the zoo. She was weeping and repeating, “amma, appa.” She asked a few passers by if they had seen her parents. But it was of no use. She looked around. She saw a cross on the tower of a church. Wiping her tears, she walked towards the direction of the cross. Her fear and fright flew away when she stepped into the church. The pastor who was there inquired about her kindly and noted her address. He himself took her to her house. Varshini’s parents thanked Jesus for bringing their daughter back safely. They also thanked the pastor for his timely help and kindness. 

Beloved goldies, our families may be in a state of confusion due to poverty or sickness and we may feel that there is no way to go or live. Let us lift up our eyes unto the cross. Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died on the cross only for our wellness and comfort. God is mighty to direct our steps and lead us in the right path and meet our necessities. Amen.
