Shall We Share the Good News?

“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?” - Romans 10:14

For a week, Lydia and her fellow teachers had been working from house to house, wandering the streets and recruiting students. Though she dearly loved the teaching profession, she had no formal qualification, just a school education and was working in a private school. That day, at around 1.00 pm, her mother suddenly came looking for her and said, "Lydia, they are hiring for teacher training. Come, let's get an application." She was angry and on the other hand, she felt sympathy. She said, "Mom, is this necessary in the current situation?"Her mother immediately said, "Leave all that, think about your future, and leave immediately." This happened more than twenty years ago. Now Lydia is a government school teacher. Tears welled up in her eyes, she remembered her mother. She thanked the Lord. If my mother had not come that day and told her that she was making a request, and if I had not heard her, what would my life have been like? A thousand questions filled her mind.

There was a famine in the land of Samaria, which was besieged by the Syrian army. A famine so severe that even their own children were killed and eaten (2 Kings 6:28). If this was the condition of the people in the city, think of the condition of those who were thrown out of the city because they were leprosy. The four lepers there said that instead of dying here, let's go to the tents where the enemies were staying and went to the Syrian camp. The Lord made the Syrian army hear the noise of chariots, the noise of horses, and the noise of a great army. The enemies were afraid and fled from everything. The lepers came and announced this good news in their own land. The famine of the land was changed to joy. The good news that the lepers brought to the land of Samaria changed the famine of the land.

In the same way, beloved! What Lydia’s mother told her was good news. There is good news that everyone who knows Jesus Christ must tell others. Yes, “The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.” He, only He, only the blood that He shed on the cross, can cleanse us from the mud of sin and make us new men.

Hallelujah! Will you believe this good news for yourself? Obey, come to Him, and receive a new life. Amen.
