God is Compassionate

 

"...will he not be patient with his chosen ones and not avenge them?" - Luke 18:7

 

Once, a ship bound for England met with an accident. All the passengers were placed on a lifeboat. Among the twelve women on board was a servant of Christ named Mrs. Margaret Williams. While the other eleven women lost hope of survival, being without food and water, Sister Margaret said, “Paul and Silas praised God in prison and saw His mighty hand. Let us also praise Him.” She encouraged everyone to sing praises. As they praised God, a nearby boat heard their singing and came to rescue them. Everyone on the boat thanked God after witnessing how looking to Him in praise brought deliverance.

 

Similarly, there was a man of God who sang praises to God in times of trouble. Even though David knew that God had anointed him as king, Saul pursued him all his life with the intention of killing him. But David looked to the Lord in all the dangers that came his way, and he sang and praised the Lord without ceasing, saying, “I will praise you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands to your name” (Psalm 63:4). He praised God and received God’s grace and mercy no matter where he was, whether in the wilderness or in a cave.

 

Yes, in the world we live in today, we can see God helping us when we sing and pray for God’s grace and help, even during problems and struggles. God is good and full of compassion. Will He leave us without help? Surely not! Jesus said He will help speedily

 

Heb. 11:6 Whoever comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. Surely our God will answer all our prayers. Amen.
