The Holy Spirit – Our Seal

 

"...And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption..." - Ephesians 4:30

 

The famous scientist Albert Einstein once saw a little boy with a dirty face and said, “If you go and wash your face, I’ll give you 25 cents.” The boy came back with a clean face, and Einstein gave him the money, then asked, “What will you do with it?” The boy replied, “If you let me cut your hair, I’ll give it back to you.” Today, we are quick to notice others’ faults but fail to examine our own. In John 16:8, it says that the Holy Spirit will convict the world regarding sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit dwells with us to convict and correct us

 

King David prayed that the Holy Spirit would be with him forever. In Psalm 51, he firmly believed that when the Holy Spirit is with him forever, he cannot sin. In 1 Corinthians 3:16, Paul says, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”

 

We often forget that we are the temple of God (house of prayer) and we should pray for others, but we do not love others. Peter could not love Cornelius and needed a vision to explain to him that God is not partial. Today we grieve God and the Holy Spirit by being partial. We who should act as good Samaritans turn away as Levites and priests. If we grieve the Holy Spirit, He will leave us. We will be like Samson who did not know that the Holy Spirit left him. If we walk with God like Daniel, like Joseph, like Enoch, like Noah, who were known to have the Holy Spirit, we can know that He is with us.

 

Like the Holy apostle Paul, let us say, "Christ is life for me, and death is gain for me." This statement shows that we do not belong to this world, death is certain, and through death we will go to heaven to receive Christ, who is eternal life. The Holy Spirit is the one who takes us to heaven! Amen.
